French is taught as a discrete subject in KS2, although children in KS1 learn to say some greetings in foreign languages throughout the year.  An awareness of French culture and traditions are shared with the children through activities such as whole school French breakfast and celebrating Bastille Day. We also encourage the celebration of all languages by acknowledging European Languages Day and highlighting other languages regularly.
